Disciplines:
Incense Maker, Tattoo Artist, & Sculptor
Bio: Hyungi Park is a Korean-American multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Often utilizing incense in her performance and installation work, Hyungi found herself dissatisfied with the quality of the incense available in stores. She took it upon herself to study the history and cultural aspects of incense as well as traditional methods of production, and began making small batches of incense for use in her personal work. Finding her homemade incense popular with friends and patrons, she launched her own line of handmade incense and started a wildly popular incense workshop at her studio in Los Angeles where she shares her knowledge and passion with others. Her incense work has been featured in the New York Times and she has hosted workshops for Urban Outfitters, Nike, Spotify, and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Richmond, VA.
